Healthwatch Engagement Response

Overview

Healthwatch organisations are statutory, independent champions for people who use health and social care services. Each local authority is required by the Health and Social Care Act 2012 to ensure that an independent Healthwatch organisation operates within its area.

Healthwatch (Wolverhampton) is responsible for ensuring that local voices are heard and people’s views and experiences are used to improve existing services and to help shape future services. In addition, where concerns and problems in relation to services have been identified, Healthwatch (Wolverhampton) will inform the relevant people and ensure that action is taken to resolve these issues and prevent them from arising again.

Why your views matter

The current Healthwatch (Wolverhampton) contract is due for renewal in April 2022. The City of Wolverhampton Council wishes to engage with local people including key partners in health and social care, service users and their families/carers in order to shape and enhance the new Healthwatch (Wolverhampton) provision.

There will also be an opportunity for you to share your views through general on-line sessions that will be held on 26 May 2021 at 2pm -3pm and 3 June 2021 at 5pm – 6pm.

To book onto a session or to raise any queries in relation to this engagement please contact us through: people.commissioning@wolverhampton.gov.uk. Places will be limited, the deadline for booking onto a session is 29 April 2021.

When booking onto a general on-line session, please identify any translation requirements and appropriate arrangements will be put in place. We kindly ask people to consider using family and/or friends (excl. children) to translate in the first instance.
