Understanding the needs of Children and Young People with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) - Engagement for Professionals

Closed 25 Aug 2019

Opened 28 Jun 2019

Overview

Wolverhampton Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Partnership and Commissioning Board will soon be reviewing the city's Joint Strategy for Children and Young People with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

To inform this, the SEND Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) is being updated. This will help to make sure that our understanding of the education, health and care needs of children and young people with SEND in our city is as up to date as possible.

The JSNA will also help us to shape and develop the way we work with children and young people with SEND, and their families, so that they are supported to be as independent as possible and to live a good, ordinary life.

This may include looking at how services can best meet the needs of children and young people with SEND. It may also be about how we can work together to break down barriers to every day activities that children and young people with SEND often face.

Why your views matter

We would like to hear from professionals who work with children and young people with SEND, and their families in Wolverhampton.

As key stakeholders, your views about how we support children and young people with SEND, and their families, to live a good, ordinary life are very important to us.

We would like to hear from you if you are a specialist SEND professional. We would also like to hear from you if you work with children and young people with SEND as part of a broader professional remit.
