Smestow Valley is Wolverhampton's largest green space and much loved. City of Wolverhampton Council and our partners, Canal and River Trust and Birmingham and Black Country Wildlife Trust have received support from The National Lottery Heritage Fund to develop a project to Explore, Enhance, Protect and Promote Smestow Valley Local Nature Reserve project. We'll be working with local stakeholders and people to do this, including Wildside Activity Centre and the local Friends of Smestow Valley group.
The project has several aims: (1) to improve access into and throughout the nature reserve, (2) to repair and protect historic features, and (3) improve signage and information about Smestow Valley. It will also (4) carry out maintenance and nature conservation work in the reserve and (5) deliver an educational and volunteering programme.
We’d really like to hear your thoughts and views. This survey will only take a few minutes, but your input will help to shape the future of Smestow Valley Local Nature Reserve.
