Summer Activities - Existing Plans and Funding Application

Closed 15 Aug 2020

Opened 1 Jul 2020

Overview

Within the Youth Engagement Strategy #YES there is a commitment to deliver a summer programme at a universal and targeted level.  Feedback from last year’s successful Summer Squad programme showed that:

  • children and young people want local activities that are affordable and fun.
  • children, young people, families and organisations like activities being promoted on one site, making it easier to see what is available and plan ahead.

We are well aware that Covid-19 has resulted in many organisations having to modify or reduce their usual provision and change the way they engage with children, young people and families. This short survey will help us to understand the current offer across the city.

Once you have completed the survey, you will be able to access the short application form for grants of up to £2,000 for summer activities.  We will consider higher value projects up to £5,000 in exceptional circumstances. This grants process will be a rolling programme, with decisions being made every fortnight.  So, whether you want to apply to purchase some resources to encourage family time, or you want to put on activities for people to take part in for a few days / throughout the summer holidays, please use the link to the application form at the end of the survey to apply for funds to make this possible.

If you need premises to deliver activities from, then The Way is inviting local organisations to use their building and outdoor space free of charge (depending on availability).
