Overview

The City of Wolverhampton attracts millions of visitors a year to our cultural, entertainment, sports and leisure venues and events programme. The visitor economy is an important part of our local economy supporting jobs and generating spend in our city.

Wolverhampton Destination Management Plan will provide the framework to support the growth of Wolverhampton’s visitor economy bringing together Events, Evening and Nighttime Economy and Culture. Its aim is to create a vibrant destination and proposition that attracts visitors from near and far, day, evening and night, to enjoy our fantastic offer and celebrate the city’s diversity and heritage.

The plan builds on existing visitor attractions and offer across the city including heritage, culture, music, comedy and entertainment, sports and leisure, retail and hospitality, business tourism, parks, green spaces and nature reserves. The Plan focuses on six key priorities:

  1. Create a vibrant and mixed evening and nighttime economy.
  2. Create a vibrant Events City joint programme
  3. Ensure our high streets are vibrant and attractive
  4. Develop a distinctive destination
  5. Develop an accessible and inclusive city
  6. Improve the quality of the accommodation offer
