Proposed Expansion Scheme – Colton Hills Community School

Overview

The City of Wolverhampton Council propose to permanently expand Colton Hills Community School with effect from September 2027.

It is proposed that the school’s Year 7 admission limit is increased from 161 to 240. The admission limit for subsequent years would also be 240 and the school would grow over a seven year period. By September 2031, the school would cater for up to 1200 pupils.

Why your views matter

Levels of demand for secondary school places in Wolverhampton are projected to increase. In order to ensure sufficient school places are available, the City of Wolverhampton Council propose that the capacity of Colton Hills Community School is permanently increased to enable the school to cater for a greater number of pupils.

To accommodate this proposed expansion, additional accommodation will be constructed on the existing school site, subject to final approval.
