Admissions Arrangements for Community and Voluntary Controlled Schools 2024-25
Overview
The City of Wolverhampton Council is consulting on a small, proposed change to the admissions criteria for Wolverhampton Community and Voluntary Controlled Schools for academic year 2024-25, in line with its statutory duty as an Admission Authority.
Admission authorities must ensure that the practices and the criteria used to decide the allocation of school places are fair, clear, and objective.
All schools must have admission arrangements that clearly set out how children will be admitted, including the criteria that will be applied if there are more applications than places at the school (oversubscription criteria).
Why your views matter
This consultation relates to the overall admissions arrangements with one proposed change to add an oversubscription criterion for children whose parent/carer is a member of staff employed at the school.
What happens next
The outcome of consultation and recommendations will then be presented to Cabinet in February 2023.
