Active Care Home Project
Overview
City of Wolverhampton Council's Adult Social Care Service, Public Health team and Wolverhampton Place Team from the NHS Black Country Integrated Care Board have come together to offer residential care homes across Wolverhampton an exciting provision to support the physical and mental well-being of people they care for.
The Active Care Homes Project offers care homes a free provision where a qualified instructor can attend the care home and provide general exercise and strength and balance sessions to help resident’s physicality and mental well-being.
This project forms part of a wider strategy across the city to increase physical activity levels across all age groups. This project in particular is aligned with the healthy ageing agenda which aims to provide people with a fulfilling life as they move to older years of life and prevent adverse events such as a fall causing injury.
Why your views matter
The project has been running since September 2023 and we want to evaluate it to ensure that the outcomes are being achieved. Providing your views and opinions will help us to ensure that we can idenitfy any amendments to the provision to meet its requirements.
