Adult Consultation - Gambling Harm Reduction Strategy

Overview

Gambling harms are an ever‑increasing public health issue, driven by the rapid growth of online betting, gaming-style features, and targeted advertising that disproportionately impact vulnerable groups. As exposure becomes more frequent and accessible, the associated financial, emotional and social harms are becoming more visible across communities, requiring a proactive, preventative and evidence‑led response.

Why your views matter

Communities hold unique insights into how harms present within different settings, which populations are most affected, and where gaps in prevention, early intervention and support currently exist. Through your input the strategy will be shaped based upon real‑world experience, informed by local intelligence, and aligned with wider safeguarding and public health priorities.

Please review the attached strategy and provide your thoughts on how the strategy ensures wolverhampton residents are supported to mitigate risks of gambling harms through the identified priorities and focus areas. Your feedback will directly inform priority areas, shape prevention messaging, and guide the development of gambling harms mitigation within the final strategy.
