Overview

The Black Country Authorities of Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall and Wolverhampton are seeking your views on an important Plan that will shape the future of the Black Country up to 2039.

The consultation will run from Monday 16th August 2021 until 5.00pm on Monday 11th October 2021.

All consultation documents are available to view on the Black Country Plan website at https://blackcountryplan.dudley.gov.uk/t2/p5/

Why your views matter

The Black Country Plan is a joint Local Plan prepared by the four Black Country Authorities. The Plan will decide where new housing and employment development will be located up to 2039. The Draft Plan document follows on from an Issues and Options consultation in 2017 and provides an update on key planning issues and preferred options for addressing them.

The Plan will make key decisions such as:

  • How much new housing is needed and where will it go?
  • How much new employment land is needed and where should it go?
  • Where will new services be located?

What happens next

Consultation responses will feed into preparation of the next stage of the Plan preparation process – the Publication Plan – which is due to go out for consultation in summer 2022.
