Proposed 20mph Speed Limit and Traffic Calming on Barnhurst Lane
Overview
THE WOLVERHAMPTON CITY COUNCIL (BARNHURST LANE) (20 MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2021
THE WOLVERHAMPTON CITY COUNCIL (BARNHURST LANE) PROPOSED TRAFFIC CALMING MEASURES
During our annual Road Safety review we identified that there had been a number of Personal Injury Accidents on the section of Barnhurst Lane outside Aldersley high School during school travel times.
City of Wolverhampton Council are therefore proposing to implement a local safety scheme designed to improve the safety of parents and children on their way to and from school, each day.
The proposals can be seen on the attached plans, which include:
- A proposed 20mph speed limit on Barnhurst Lane, from its junction with Ryefield to 100m south of The Droveway junction.
- Associated traffic calming within the 20mph speed limit, in the form of vertical traffic calming features including speed cushions, flat top humps and raising the existing toucan crossing facility.
