THE WOLVERHAMPTON CITY COUNCIL (WEDNESFIELD) (PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING AND STREET PARKING PLACES) (AMENDMENT NO 2) ORDER 2022

WOLVERHAMPTON CITY COUNCIL (WODEN ROAD) PROPOSED TRAFFIC CALMING MEASURES

Road Safety on Woden Road near to St Stephen’s CofE Primary School has been of concern to the Council, School, and parents for some time.

City of Wolverhampton Council are therefore proposing to implement a local safety (safer routes to school) scheme.  The proposals have been designed to improve safety for both children and parents, by ensuring that sections of the highway, including footpaths, are kept free from parked vehicles. Whilst also aiming to provide a more convenient and safer place to cross the road.

The proposals can be seen on the attached plans, which include:

  • A proposed raised uncontrolled crossing point in front of St Stephen’s School on Woden Road and enhanced traffic calming which includes reconstructing the existing speed cushions, between Hobgate Road and Charles Drive.
  • Proposed waiting and loading restrictions in parts of Woden Road and junction with Charles Drive.
