Future of Wolverhampton Council Housing

Overview

The Council is planning for the Future of Wolverhampton Council Housing. We are developing what council housing services will look like in the future and want to know what the most important things about council housing are to you.

To do this we need the views of tenants to find out how we can improve services to better meet your needs.

We regularly ask our tenants what they think about our housing services through our tenant satisfaction measure surveys. The latest results show that 67% of tenants are satisfied with the services they receive, and that in areas which are managed by our Tenant Management Organisations, levels of satisfaction are generally higher.

We want to improve our housing services and satisfaction for all our tenants; the feedback you provide helps us to understand what matters most to tenants and where we should focus on improving.

Across other areas of the council, Adult Social Care, Children's Services, Community Support, Environmental Services and Community Safety, we are introducing a more local, place-based way of working. This means focusing on the specific needs of different communities and neighbourhoods.

Here are five key proposals for the Future of Wolverhampton Council Housing:

  1. A digital-first but not digital-only service – improving access to services for all our tenants
  2. Strong local neighbourhood presence, this will help us get involved early and improve local accountability
  3. We want to work more closely with wider council and partner services, particularly health and community safety
  4. We want joined up housing estate and environmental services to deliver consistent neighbourhood standards
  5. A data-driven approach to housing performance, compliance (health and safety) and continuous improvement, with a range of ways in which tenants engage with us and influence housing services

Please tell us what you think about these proposals.
