Wolverhampton Plan Scoping Consultation

Overview

This initial scoping consultation is to inform a new blueprint on how land in Wolverhampton could be regenerated in future years.

Recent changes to national planning rules made by the government mean the City of Wolverhampton Council must begin work this year on a new local plan, which will protect the environment and shape where development takes place up to 2045. The ‘Wolverhampton Plan’ will be the local development plan under the new system.  The first stage of the Plan preparation process is to hold a scoping consultation.  

This scoping consultation does not identify development sites or draft planning policies, but invites feedback on what the plan should contain and how the community should be involved, seeking views on the proposed scope of the plan and what it will replace, any supporting evidence that may be required to inform the plan, and a community engagement strategy for the plan preparation process. 

The plan will identify environmental areas to protect and enhance, sites to allocate for development including housing and employment uses, key transport schemes and policies to guide design and secure infrastructure.

How to make representations

This online form is designed to be quick and easy to complete. The questions provided below correspond to each section of the Scoping Report (with relevant page numbers for each section provided) and also enable you to provide any other comments about the Wolverhampton Plan. Please read the Scoping Report – available to read below and as a pdf to download - when completing this form. Further information about the Scoping Consultation is available here.

To help inform the preparation of the Wolverhampton Plan a “Call for Sites” exercise has been launched, inviting landowners and developers to submit potential development sites for consideration. We have contacted you because you have previously expressed an interest in planning issues in Wolverhampton, such as through the Wolverhampton Local Plan.

To request to be notified when future steps occur in the preparation of the Wolverhampton Plan you must either:
