Proposed Public Realm Improvements - City Centre 2021
Overview
Changes to vehicular waiting, loading and access arrangements associated with ongoing public realm improvement programme in Wolverhampton City Centre.
As part of the on-going wider public realm improvements within the City Centre and the continued recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, City of Wolverhampton Council are proposing a number of changes to road layout, access arrangements and times of operation affecting a number of roads around the Civic and Wulfrun Halls in the north west of the City Centre as follows:
- The formation of Pedestrian and Cycle facilities in the Mitre Fold and North Street area
- Revised vehicular access on Mitre Fold into the proposed pedstrianised area, including the introduction of access control barriers.
- Revisions to permitted vehicular access to Corporation Street.
- The re-opening of the Northern end of North Street to vehicular traffic.
- Special arrangements for traffic flows on event days at the Civic and Wulfrun Halls.
- Changed directions of traffic flow on Paternoster Row and part of North Street.
