THE WOLVERHAMPTON CITY COUNCIL (WEDNESFIELD) (PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF WAITING AND STREET PARKING PLACES) (AMENDMENT NO 4) ORDER 2022

WOLVERHAMPTON CITY COUNCIL (UNDERHILL LANE) PROPOSED TRAFFIC CALMING MEASURES

City of Wolverhampton Council is proposing to implement road safety measures from just north of Wild Tree Avenue to A460 Cannock Road. These proposals (as shown on the attached plans) will include:

  • Vertical traffic calming features, such as Speed Cushions and Flat Top Humps.
  • A new raised zebra crossing relocated closer to the pedestrian entrance  to Berrybrook Primary School.
  • A raised crossing point, just south of Edge Hill Lane.
  • Proposed waiting, loading and prohibition of stopping restrictions in parts of Underhill Lane and its junctions with Westcroft Avenue and Greenacres Avenue.

These proposals have been designed to improve road safety along Underhill Lane. The traffic calming measures proposed have previously proven to be effective in reducing vehicle speeds and the number and severity of Personal Injury Collision. This will make the route safer for children and parents attending Berrybrook Primary School and will also help improve the environment for pedestrians and cyclists, as well as making the whole estate a safer place for residents and businesses.
