Old Hall Street – Proposed Experimental Pedestrian and Cycle Zone.
Overview
THE WOLVERHAMPTON CITY COUNCIL (CITY CENTRE) (PEDESTRIAN AND CYCLE ZONE) (LOADING) EXPERIMENTAL ORDER 2026
Following the opening of the new City Learning Quarter building in the city centre, The City of Wolverhampton Council is now implementing an Experimental Traffic Regulation Order which makes changes to the existing Pedestrian and Cycle Zone on Old Hall Street.
The proposed restrictions are required to provide a dedicated Pedestrian and Cycle Zone, with exemptions to allow facilities for statutory undertaking and deliveries to local business premises but removes the facility for Blue Badge Parking.
The experimental pedestrian and cycle zone order will last for up to 18 months. During this 18-month period it will be determined whether to make the whole, or part, of the Experimental Traffic Regulation Order permanent.
Comments or objections can be made during the first six months of the experimental order. Should you wish to object or comment during this six-month period (to 25th November 2026), please respond by email using the contact email address with the heading Old Hall Street Pedestrian and Cycle Zone, providing your full name and full address.
